Ink-Stained-Letters
This life is starting over, hope it really is for the better
No turning back now from where we go on, this will be just another letter
I write them to you to get through the day and grind
Hoping what you see is in them, is just what I find
And when that day is over this ink will dry
For the sun will set and stars fill the sky
Dreams will be my tablet at night
The moon will shed love, for it is my light
My words are for you, these rhymes from my heart
Every time I begin, this feeling will start
The earthquake in my chest, this storm that's in my fingers
I try to cherish it, for here is where it lingers
I’ll etch until I find just who you are
I can’t figure this out alone, but I’m sure I’ll get far
Escaping where I’m stuck, I’ll run until the end
I’ll be forever gone, but these letters I will send
You can read them, just hope you remember
The good times, the great, like that day in December
What you learned, where we went, and all that was us
Moving mountains to climb to the top then crumble to dust
You can let go now, to sink in the sand
I think I can do it, just need to find a hand
To stand me up and carry me like I did you
Take me to the edge of the world, just a push will do
I’ll go further than you thought, my drive’s so high
Can’t keep up, like what you say, it’s a lie
In the end is where we’ll meet but I’ll be fine
Getting over this is better, than actually seeing the sign
I can look out for myself, and the good that surrounds
You can’t see much, or hear the beautiful sounds
I’ll leave you with these letters, and here I’ll let them soak
I’d keep writing more, but this pen’s almost broke.
