Piece of You..Peace for Me

If for one day I could take with me a piece of you
I’d write a little note, to tell you what I’d do
First thing in the morning I would awake with a kiss
Uncover so lightly, so sleep you wouldn’t miss
Dress up in my clothes, and stick you in my pocket
As if I were still a kid, and treat you like my locket
Take you to places that you could only wonder
And dream of the future, all one big blunder
Check on you often, to make sure you’re close
You will walk by my side, as if no one knows
When I’d lie down, to just take a nap
I would dream of you, on my mind like a cap
Feeling so alive with so little of this
Time is on my watch, but you are on my wrist
And when I come home I won’t set you aside
This roller coaster of life, I’ll always want to ride
I’ll wipe my tears with you, and get it all out
Soaking wet you’ll make me smile, and that I’d never doubt
Once the world tumbles, I’ll see it and shrug
Just take you out, and forget with a hug
I’ll lose myself with you; I can just see it now
I’ll always keep you near, and this I can vow
No matter where I go, or the places that I see
You’ll stay on my mind, and on my hand you will be
As time has passed, and the day’s almost dead
I’ll take everything off, and take you to bed
Calm it all down, as busy as it seems
I can’t see you, but I know you’re in dreams
This is where it all, just goes and drifts away
But right here by me, this is where you’ll stay
